Senior Accountant





The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a broad range of accounting duties including oversight of key business processes such as receivables, payables, general transaction accounting, and cash flow.  

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee transactions related to the month end close including performing journal entries and related analysis to ensure the proper recording of business transactions and records
  • Manage company receivables through timely processing of customer invoices with corresponding analysis and reporting
  • Perform month end account reconciliations and year end accounting audit
  • Create & manage reporting & analysis of financial performance through business intelligence software
  • Document, evaluate and improve current procedures
  • Review and reconciliation of balance sheet and income statements
  • Perform spreadsheet analysis to analyze and report financial results
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required
  • Analyze business functions and implement appropriate accounting treatment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business related field
  • Working xxperience with accounting application systems
  • Four to six (4-6) years of related work experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel and Word programs)
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Must demonstrate effective time management
  • Must have basic knowledge of accounting applications and concepts
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret financial data and solve complex accounting problems as required
  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with other employees
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks assigned verbally or in writing in a timely manner and meet all deadlines

Desired Requirements

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable
  • Understanding of government contracts - cost-plus, time and materials, and firm-fixed price is a plus
