Mid-level Publications Officer





Duties will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Assist with editing, creating, processing, and coordinating the composition of complex text and graphics products for hardcopy and electronic publication/dissemination. Assist with editing, proofreading, formatting, inserting graphics, and providing quality control for the publication of analytic products; ensuring consistency in organization, style, and readability across all products; coordinating with the primary author(s) of products to obtain additional or clarifying information or resolve issues from the editing, proofreading, formatting, and graphics placementprocess; and ensuring mutual agreement with primary author(s) on the finalproduct.  Work with the Imaging & Publishing Support Office to arrange and sequence the publication of products.  Assist with the maintenance of the publications database to track the status of publications in progress and to record & retrieve all completed publications.  Assist with the preparation of publications for government review prior to electronic dissemination (xml conversion & preparation of files for posting). Work with designated agencies/offices regarding all new changes to the REPUBs database (which is used to submit products for electronic dissemination).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5 years of work experience related to the job description
  • Demonstrated writing, reviewing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in formatting publications for hard copy and electronic publication.
