Junior-Level CI Specialist





Mission Essential is currently seeking Counterintelligence Specialists to provide security and defensive Counterintelligence (CI) support to the Counterespionage Division (CED), Office of Counterintelligence (OCI). The Counterintelligence Specialists must be a recognized industry expert with significant depth and breadth of knowledge in a variety of Counter Intelligence and Technical tasks, including but not limited to Investigations, Operations, Collections, Analysis, Insider Threat, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), Integration and Lead Development activities, and be able to provide corresponding advisor and consultant services.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assess reported information, select, and recommend Cl investigative techniques and procedures.
  • Recognize threats posed to the customer from FIE and insider threat, and understand and apply Cl protective measures to neutralize, degrade, or exploit the threat.
  • Produce assessments of CI threats and vulnerabilities and assess the level of CI risk to customer affiliates.
  • Identify threats to OIA personnel who travel to foreign countries, identify foreign threats or influence to customer personnel through foreign contacts, and identify foreign threat posed by foreign visitors to customer facilities.
  • Provide research and develop CIAR training products and manage SharePoint site for training events.
  • Perform CI Name Checks consisting of researching appropriate databases to identify Foreign Intelligence Entities (FIE) Threat.
  • Provide CCISRS management. Conducting research on incidents, determination of CI indicators, research on appropriate actions and appropriate disposition of the incidents.

Review multiple threat streams in order to identify CI indicators, find FIE nexus, and recommend appropriate actions utilizing multiple databases, analytical products, and Cl regulations and policies to protect the customer from FIE penetration and collection activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited CI Special Agent credentialing school. (A copy of the credentialing school certificate must be provided)
  • 3 years cumulative experience conducting Cl collections, CI functional services, Cl investigations, or CI operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of National and Defense CI Protective activities, guidance, community, and practices.
  • Be familiar with Cl Awareness and Reporting (ClAR) in accordance with {lAW) Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 5240.06, Cl Functional Services (CIFS) Support lAW Department of Defense Instruction (DoD I} 5240.16; CI Support to Cyber lAW DoD I 5240.23.
  • Must be willing to travel within a 50 mile radius of worksite
  • TS/SCI and must be willing to take a CI polygraph
